It's Hailey Bieber's world, and we're just living in it. So far in 2024, the model has announced her pregnancy, kick-started a new wave of cool-girl maternity style, continued delivering chic manicure inspiration, and is still leading her beauty brand, Rhode. What can't she do? In the midst of it all, the 27-year-old is starting a new trend: "Beachy glow" makeup.
On May 28, Bieber posted a makeup tutorial on TikTok showcasing the products she's using this summer to achieve a just-got-home-from-the-beach complexion. In the video, the Rhode founder is fresh-faced wearing a brown top, and describes the look as a "summer, beachy, glowy, bronzy" tutorial. Given Bieber's penchant for a good glazed glow, we were seated for the tutorial.
We would be surprised if Bieber didn't start by prepping her skin with her Rhode products. Of course, she first applied the Rhode Glazing Milk all over and massaged the ceramide-packed toner into her skin. Next, she layered on the Peptide Glazing Fluid for another dose of hydration.
The next step in Bieber's routine was the most intriguing. She skipped foundation, concealer, and her brows, and went straight to bronzing. She didn't reveal the product, however, she mentioned it was a bronzer that also doubles as a self-tanner, and she applied it on her temples and cheekbones. After all, this is her bronzy tutorial, so the emphasis on a glow makes sense.
Following her skin prep and bronzer, Bieber went in with the Hourglass Airbrush Concealer. "It's so creamy and beautiful," she says of the concealer. "It has just stayed a staple in my makeup routine," she added. She applied it everywhere you'd normally add concealer—under the eyes, on any blemishes or redness, and on the center of her forehead and chin to brighten. She then blends in the concealer with a brush.
After applying concealer, Bieber goes in with the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint to "marry everything together" and buffs it out with a brush. It may seem counterintuitive to apply bronzer and concealer before foundation, but it's actually a pro technique called underpainting, resulting in a super-natural look. The technique is a favorite of makeup artist Mary Phillips, who frequently works with Bieber.
To finish off her complexion, Bieber taps on some of the Hourglass Translucent Powder to add a blurring, matte effect just around her mouth.
The very last step of Bieber's routine? A bit of pretty pink blush, of course. And, while she didn't reveal the product's name, we can assume it was another sneak peek of the upcoming Rhode blushes she's been teasing. "I'm going to go in with this sunburnt, bronzy, terracotta color," she says, tapping the shades across her cheeks and nose. She adds another shade, which she describes as having an orangey-pink tone, which she notes is her favorite for summer, and she applies this to the tops of her cheeks. She added a tap of more blush to her lips and cheeks along with a swipe of highlighter.
And, there you have it: Hailey Bieber's summer makeup routine! Now, we'll just have to keep our eyes on the Rhode account for the announcement of the new blushes.
