She traded goth for glitter.

Ever since her role in Netflix’s You, Jenna Ortega has quickly risen Hollywood’s ranks. Not only has she become one of the most sought-after young stars in the industry, but also a bonafide style and beauty icon. Every red carpet, she asserts herself more and more as a fashion powerhouse—debuting Auburn hair at the 2023 Golden Globes, taking our breath away at the Met Gala, and wearing a goth wedding dress to the Wednesday premiere.

Little did we know that Wednesday would become one of the biggest shows in the world, and would earn Ortega a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the January 2024 Emmys.

Her nomination makes her the only Latina actor to be nominated for the category since America Ferrera in 2007. Add in the fact Wednesday is nominated for three awards total, and she had to show up already looking like the winner she is. And, oh, did she deliver.

To waltz the red carpet and watch as the TV industry gathered for one of the first times since the SAG-AFTRA strike, Ortega came wearing an outfit and makeup look straight out of a fairytale—though far from the dark fairytales that inspired the show she's nominated for.

Instead of a vampy goth fantasy, this look was giving fairy princess down to every detail. Starting with the dress, she looked like a walking floral garden straight out of Alice and Wonderland. A structured, boned Dior Haute Couture design; it was semi-see through, giving us a peek at the materials bringing the gown to life. With a base of pale green it appeared to be like a hedge for all the pastel purple and white floral details to grow on.

However, the fantasy didn't end there. A similar purple shade to the flowers on her dress was dusted on her eyes by makeup artist Melanie Inglessis using Dior Beauty. On top of the base lavender color was a layer of matching glittery purple specks that lit up the look even more, almost giving us sugar plum fairy vibes, just of the Haute Couture variety.

The finishing touches was hair and accessories. Framing her purple eyes was her shoulder-length brown hair in a middle part and loose waves. Then, of course, a thick diamond necklace and some matching opulent rings completed the magical look.
