Rihanna is just as much a hair shapeshifter as she is a style icon. The Fenty Beauty founder goes from red carpet elegance to high-fashion street style just as seamlessly as she switches from mullets to blunt bangs, side swept bangs, and faux locs. However, across all these hairstyles, she usually keeps the color her classic black—save for a rare yellow blonde moment and her iconic cherry cherry cola red era.
However, Rhi just switched up her color for the first time in a few years. Over the weekend, the singer headed to Las Vegas with A$AP Rocky to sit front row for the F1 Grand Prix. Though she didn't get to "Shut Up and Drive" the cars (sorry), she did channel the racer aesthetic of the event with her biker ensemble and freshly debuted caramel-blonde hair.
Hitting just below her chest, her hair was the same length she's been wearing, just with a new light shade from root to end. Not an icy white blonde or overly yellow blonde; this color is the definition of caramel. The warm tone has a little dimension throughout, and is essentially the deepest shade of blonde you can go before veering into brunette territory. That being said, compared to Rihanna's usual espresso shade, it's a bold change.
She styled it in the perfect way that gave us all the Fast and Furious vibes we could have wished for. Like she just ended a high-speed motorcycle chase and ripped off her helmet to reveal flowing, luscious hair flying through the air; Rihanna's hair was full of soft waves that bounced as she walked. Parted down the side, she let the front strands fall over her face for a side-swept bangs moment. To finish off the look, she let some of her hair stay stylishly tucked into her jacket.
Rihanna paired the new look with an on-trend outfit perfectly suited for the occasion. Moto-inspired style has been hot for a minute now, and with the star's co-signing, it likely isn't going anywhere. She wore a plain black zip-up hoodie—unzipped to show a peek at her bra—underneath a leather Balenciaga motorcycle jacket. She paired the combo with opaque tights and a handful of jewelry—a thick choker and layers of earrings. Finishing off the look with oversized workwear-inspired sunnies and a bold red lip.
