What Jocelyn was to the people of The Idol, Lily-Rose Depp is to the people of the real world. But unlike her fictional alias, the model doesn't even need to release music to prove herself. As long as she shows up and showcases a slay every once in a while, we're all in. And guess what she did today?
Depp's latest public appearance took place in Marseille, France on May 2, where she watched the Chanel Cruise 24/25 show. Rocking a black bodycon knit crop top and pink-and-black knit miniskirt from the brand's Metiers d'Art 2023 collection, she was easily one of the best dressed guests around—a strong statement to make at a Chanel fashion show. And even so, the most intriguing part of her look wasn't the fashion at all, but her manicure—a mega-short, dark design that reminds us of black rose petals.
Perhaps a trimmed reboot of the vampy oxblood red manicure she wore on a recent trip to Japan, this could also be a new look altogether. It's pretty dark, throwing off an almost glossy black appearance in the French sunlight and falling somewhere between Chanel's famous Rouge Noir and new Le Diable en Chanel shades ($32 each) in tone. (I wouldn't put it past this girl to have a custom color!)
Alongside softly waved hair, Depp finished off her glam with her signature nude lip. Once upon a time, Chanel makeup artist Kate Lee told Byrdie how to get the exact look. While the actress typically applies her own lip products, she does have a certain formula she follows: "nude lips, with a slightly darker lip liner [to] add [to] the bee-stung shape of her lips," according to Lee. Products of note include Chanel's Le Crayon Lèvres Longwear Lip Pencil ($32) in 156 Beige Naturel and Rouge Coco ($42) in 402 Adrienne.
While she's been known to favor a smoky look, this precise iteration of Depp's eye makeup remains a mystery, as she decided to accessorize with a pair of Chanel cat-eye sunglasses (very likely the same pair she wore on The Idol) for her day in the sun.
