On the off chance you need a reminder, Sarah Jessica Parker is a fashion icon. Long before and long after her Sex and the City days, SJP has never missed a beat when it comes to her looks. The megastar will wear anything once—her SATC character is only a sliver of the proof—and isn't afraid to play with color, prints, patterns, and sequins. Usually, she pairs her look with some bright coordinating heels from her SJP Collection and just as interesting makeup.
On January 28, the star was in London for a special gala performance and after party for her play Plaza Suite, which she stars in alongside her husband, Matthew Broderick. Though the play's costumes are a reflection of the three different couples the real-life lovebirds play—everything from over-the-top Kentucky Derby style to chic all-black ensembles—the look she wore to walk the red carpet was all SJP.
It's hard to look at her and not immediately stare at her dress. A long-sleeve midi length design, it was layered in gold and silver sequins on top of a mesh base—such a chic way to give the mixed metals trend a try, might we add. To make the sequins pop even more, the mesh outer layer was styled on top of an off-the-shoulder black dress of the same length.
However, once we got past the dress, we realized her makeup was painted to match her gold and silver sparkles.
On top of a dewy, glowy base—courtesy of her RoC collaboration, perhaps?—with the lightest pink flush from blush and slight contouring, she brought the mixed metals to her eyes. From the inner corner to the outer corner, Parker's eyelids were coated in a shiny, bronzy shade. The shadow had flecks of both silver and gold glitter that was particularly concentrated towards her inner corners.
To add definition, she lined her water lines with dark black liner, made even darker with the addition of black mascara on her long, fluttering lashes. Glossy pink lips were the finishing touch on her makeup. Her blonde, highlighted hair was parted down the middle with effortless waves framing her entire look.
The finishing touches came down to accessories. She carried a slouchy sequin purse in the same shades as her dress. She also wore a thick gold and silver bracelet to add to the mixed metals. Pointy black heels were the very last part of the outfit; then, she was ready to celebrate her on-stage performance.
