When you think of Lori Harvey, minimalist, yet chic and sexy is the aesthetic that most likely comes to mind. Be it her classic manicures, her glowing skin, her gorgeous makeup looks, or New York Fashion Week outfits, Harvey always leans on low-key polished looks that enhance her natural beauty. What is Lori not often associated with? Most goth or edgy aesthetics that call for experimentation—but that all just changed.
On March 16, the model and mogul posted some behind the scenes looks from her recent cover shoot for Numéro Netherlands. Though the actual cover saw her in her classic black hair, in a handful of photos in the issue Harvey had a completely different look—a bleach blonde pixie cut with coordinating bleached brows.
Normally, Harvey wears her black hair in a shoulder-grazing bob. She often styles it wavy with a middle part and lots of shine and bounce. So imagine our surprise when none of those things were visible in this look. No more than a few inches, Harvey's hair was genuinely the shortest we've ever seen it. The new look grazed the very top of her forehead, forming face-framing sideburns and continuing evenly around the rest of her head.
However, although the new length caused us to do a double take, it was the color that truly caught us by the most surprise. As mentioned, we have really never seen her in anything but black hair. This new look? Bright bleach blonde. Not quite icy silver blonde but certainly not honey blonde; this look was practically white with tinges of yellow. If we had to compare it to anything, it would be the color of white gold, though that’s just a fancy way of saying “in between white and blonde.”
However, the look didn’t stop there. The new cut was enough, however, paired with the bleached eyebrows and edgy makeup, this look became her most experimental yet.
In the exact same color as her new hair, Harvey’s eyebrows were bright blonde, nearly making them disappear onto her skin. The lack of distinct, dark brows made way for her black eye makeup to pop. Surrounding her eyes was a thick stroke of dark black eyeliner, forming a sharp inner corner and a long cat eye. The dark pigment was blended out under her lower lashline and on top of her lids, adding to the drama. Dark, fluttery lashes and glossy nude lips finished off the look.
