Metallic beauty and style have been inescapable this past year, from chrome nails evolving into chrome webs, chrome drip, vanilla chrome nails, and literally dozens more; to Beyoncé's Renaissance tour inspiring millions of people to break out their most shimmering silvers. Even celebrities like Keke Palmer and Lupita Nyong'o have gotten in on it with silver highlights for Palmer and a silver breastplate for Nyong'o.
Most recently, Jada Pinkett Smith is making the case for a different kind of metallic glamor, dying her hair shimmering rose gold, a slight—but jaw-dropping—change for the icon.
Pinkett Smith loves to express herself through her hair, which she keeps short thanks to alopecia—a disease that causes hair loss most commonly in the scalp region. She may have limited stands, but she likes to make the most of what she's got, regularly experimenting with different shades of blondes, pinks, and the occasional rhinestone or two.
Her latest switch-up was a new rose gold color that was just as shimmery and decadent as you would expect. The shade was a gorgeous pink-gold hybrid, which literally reflected the light for an almost metallic effect.
The hair change was in honor of Pinkett Smith's 52nd birthday, and she paired it with simple yet elegant nails, makeup and clothes.
While her hair was the main focus of the photo, we couldn't help but take note of her nails as well. She wore a muted French manicure, with her nails at a medium length and almond shape, with a super natural feel, giving "your nails but better."
Her glam was perfect as well. Her skin was poreless and matte, with a touch of rosy blush to match her hair and super glossy lips. She wore a bit of eyeliner on the top waterline with a nearly-there touch of brown shadow on her lids. Her brows, of course, were styled to perfection, and she paired it all with futuristic-chic thick silver hoops and an oversized black turtleneck.
Lucky for you, getting a similar look is pretty DIY-friendly, and there are dozens of hair dye brands you can choose from to help you achieve a rose gold glow. There's Arctic Fox's Frosé, Overtone's Rose Gold, or Bleach London's Rosé, which can all get you close to the same rose gold sheen at home. Or, of course, a visit to your favorite hairstylist is always a good idea if you need a little hand-holding.
