When InnBeauty Project hit the scene in 2019, the brand bet big on Gen Z. The skincare line aimed to fill the major gaps in the clean market and was an immediate hit amongst younger consumers thanks to its bright packaging, acne-centric skincare, and accessible pricing with most of the products hovering around around or below the $40 mark.
Since then, InnBeauty has developed a loyal following of all ages—myself included. But with its newest launch, it's ready to grow up. Enter Extreme Cream ($48), a luxurious formula made to target signs of aging and rival much more expensive creams. Ahead is everything you need to know about the cream, plus my honest review.
The Formula
Extreme Cream has a lot going on. Of course, there's the hydration element, and per the brand, the moisturizer is clinically proven to instantly hydrate the skin by 85%, thanks in part to its revolutionary reverse emulsion formula. While most moisturizers on the market feature tiny oil droplets encapsulated in water, Extreme Cream reverses the convention, using water droplets encased in oil droplets to moisturize the skin immediately and deliver all the active ingredients. This formulation also creates the cream its rich, silky texture and gives the skin an instant "glassy glow."
Then, there's the anti-aging technology. In addition to ceramides for barrier protection, the formula contains 3% of a lifting peptide called Versillin. This peptide doesn't just plump the skin but strengthens the connective tissue between the skin ligaments and the dermis for a more lifted, contoured effect. (For more clarity on what that means, just take a look at the before-and-afters). There's also a plant-based retinol in the mix to help increase skin's firmness and elasticity without irritation.
Extreme Cream can be used both day and night if you're dry or just at night if you're on the oily side—though it's designed to look gorgeous under makeup. The formula is vegan, cruelty-free, vegan, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic (A.K.A. safe for acne-prone skin), and it comes in a fully recyclable (and devoid of neon) glass bottle, with refills available for $40.
The Review
As mentioned, I'm a huge fan of the brand, and this moisturizer was love at first swatch. The texture really can only be described as "silky" and feels somehow unique and luxurious. I can definitely feel the oil in the formula, but not in a heavy, greasy way. In fact, though the moisturizer delivers on its promise of glossy skin, the best part is how quickly it sinks in. It truly doesn't feel like you're wearing a glowy moisturizer, but instead like your skin is just naturally hydrated and gleamy.
The product plays well under makeup, but I particularly like using it overnight since I can feel that my skin is still plump and hydrated when I wake up. I have only been using it for a few days, so I can't speak to the lifting or firming, but if the long-term effects are anything like the immediate ones, I'm in for a treat.
