Florence Pugh's Molten Metal Manicure is Straight Out of 'Dune'

It's mesmerizing.

The Dune: Part Two press tour may just go down in history as the best-dressed press run, ever. There was Zendaya and Timothèe Chalamet's twinning moment in all-leather biker looks, Z's iconic—and historic—Mugler robot catsuit serve, Austin Butler's foray into makeup in the form of white waterliner, and, most recently, Florence Pugh's full-on metallic moment from her molten metal nails to matching eye makeup.

On February 25, Pugh and the rest of the aforementioned Dune crew arrived at Lincoln Center for the New York premiere of the highly anticipated sequel. As if the whole press tour hasn't already been a masterclass in dressing on-theme in the most stylish way, the NYC premiere continued the trend in more ways than one. However, Florence Pugh showed out in a way different from the rest.

What drew us in the most? Her molten chrome nails. Which is saying a lot, seeing as her dress was couture and her eyes were framed by reflective silver decals.

Done by manicurist Dawn Sterling, who also did Zendaya's nails that day, Pugh's nails were full of unique texture. All of her nails were shorter in length and an almond shape, but the designs mismatched slightly. They all started with a sculpted, liquid metal base, with a blobby texture similar to hot lava. The dark silver chrome was decorated with gemstones in the peaks and valleys of the nails. Sterling embellished some nails with golden pearls and others with classic white pearls. Others got a flat crystal embedded in the metal, that or small blue and pink gemstones for a pop of color. Of course, all of them were finished with a high-shine, reflective top coat.

Her makeup, done by Alex Babsky, matched this theme to a T. Reminding us somewhat of Lady Gaga's Chromatica era, Babsky framed Pugh's eyes with over-the-top, avant-garde silver eyeshadow stickers in the same shade as her nails. The decals wrapped around her orbital bone and below her lower lashline, forming a cat eye near the ends of her eyebrows, and a pointy inner corner that added even more mystique and drama.

The look couldn't help but remind us of the character she plays in the film—Princess Irulan. The royal character is never really scene without a full metal ensemble in the trailers, specifically a chainmail veil that emulates a similar vibe to her Valentino couture gown and metallic makeup.
