As the years go on, new eyebrow products and trends emerge, and I love to try them all. Despite this experimentation, I am still hunting for something that will decrease my getting ready time and provide me with my desired look. I've even considered microblading and brow tinting, though I have yet to take the plunge.
Which is exactly what drew me to Ardell's Brow Tint kit. The box states that the kit contains 12 applications and keeps a solid color payoff for two weeks—kind of like a trial run for more semi-permanent options. Read on to find out if this product can provide the quick brow solution I've been seeking.

About My Brows: Thick and fast-growing
I have pretty full, thick brows that grow fast. I usually get my eyebrows threaded one to two times a month. My natural hair color is black, but I have blonde balayage, so I use a brown shade when filling my brows. I love using a pencil, but it is a bit time-consuming. I have often considered getting my eyebrows professionally tinted or microbladed, but I worried I would not like the results (and it can be costly). So I was excited to use the Ardell Brow Tint to get an idea of what a professional tint or microblading might look like.
How to Apply: With clean brows and patience
To use the Ardell Brow Tint, prepare your brows by washing them with soap and water, then drying them thoroughly.
Next, mix equal parts of the tint and developer in the mixing dish, using the applicator brush to stir. Once the mixture is combined, you can use the applicator brush to apply the tint to your eyebrows, covering all the hairs evenly. Then, start a timer for ten minutes once the application is complete. Once the time is up, remove the color from the brows with a damp towel and let the brows dry to see the results.
If a slightly darker shade is needed, re-apply the brow tint and process for another 3-5 minutes, then remove with a damp towel.
The Results: Fuller-looking brows
I love how easy the process is for the Ardell Brow Tint. I started cautiously, using only two scoops of the tint and waiting the required ten minutes. The second time, I used three scoops and waited another five minutes. The pigment hardens on the brow during that waiting time, but it does not feel uncomfortable. Removing the color from the brows went smoothly, and I could instantly tell that my brows looked fuller, with the tint filling in spaces in my brows.
I applied the product on a Sunday, the day before I left for a week-long vacation. I didn't want to worry about filling in my brows and thought this was the perfect time to test this product. As the week progressed, my brows looked more defined and filled in, and I only had to slightly use a brow pencil for the inner section, inner peak, and tail. It only took me about five seconds to get my brows ready.
At the one-week mark, I noticed that most of the tint had faded, but there was still a slight fullness to my brows that wasn't there before I used the Ardell Brow Tint. Two days after that, all of the product was gone from my brows. Although the tint did not last two weeks, this product decreased my getting ready time, and it was one less part of my routine I had to worry about on my trip.
The Value: Good for the price
The Ardell Brow Tint retails for $15 and can be easily found online and in stores such as Target and Ulta. The kit provides around 12 applications, so you can re-apply once your color starts fading. So if you're looking to try brow tinting from the comfort of your own home, the Ardell kit is an appealing and affordable option.
